New Artist of the week: Eyes closed ~ The Narrative

the clouds hold
a storm over this road…
you’re dreaming…
or at least you’ve got your eyes closed
and this dormant love you’ve built inside your stubborn ways,
well its begging now, for air…
…of the silent breath of change…
as these waves crash against the highway cliffs…
i’m so scared they’ll flood me where i sit…
well the roads, they change to waterways…
they never carry home…
you pull back and you angle towards the window…
now the rain is crashing down——
and oh my god, you’re beautiful…

New Artist of the week: Still Mind Still ~ Peter Katz

Contemporary Canadian folk sounds…perfect for a quiet, rainy evening…just like this one.

Still mind still…

Lullaby to myself.

New Artist of the Week: Open ~ Rhye

Subtle sounds and airy vocals… my expectations are high from this duo.

I wanna make this plain

oh, I know you fade

but stay, don’t close your eyes.

New Artist of the Week: Farther Along ~ Josh Garrels

Farther along we’ll know all about it
Farther along we’ll understand why
So, cheer up my brothers, live in the sunshine
We’ll understand this, all by and by

New Artist of the Week: It’s Just My Skin ~ George Ezra

I was pleasantly surprised with his singing voice….beautiful.

You can download this track for free from his website

New Artist of the Week: Cerque ~ Tom Freeman

He’s got a sound that is reminiscent of Bon Iver and Benjamin Leftwich Francis, but he doesn’t stick to the style, and I like that some of his other songs surprised me. He’s got my attention :)

New Artist of the Week: In My Early Years ~ Hymnalaya

Eagerly awaiting February 8th to have a listen to their debut album. Although I have a feeling if its anything like this single, it’ll be great.

Then a time came, as I grew older
For the flower to blossom, Or to pass away
To follow you or to follow my friends
A graceful decision was made.

New Artist of the Week: From The Dust ~ Hannah Anderson

She sounds like a wonderful blend of Daughter, Lucy Rose and Kina Grannis :)

you said you’ll never compromise what i can do

you thought you’d never over anylyse what i say

but you are too strong for my weak and brittle bones

so won’t you raise me up

oh raise me up from the dust

New Artist of the Week: The Fabulous Journey of a Barn Owl on a Sunny Afternoon ~ Julsy

I love how she’s a singer but dabbles in acoustic/indie/electronic instrumentals as well. Such an amazingly talented, but relatively unknown musician. Spread the music

New Artist of the week: Sweetheart What Have You Done To Us? ~ Keaton Henson

I keep getting drawn to the sad, folky, bearded musicians.

If all you wanted was songs for you
Here goes, after all that you put me through
Here’s one for you
